McNally Oil Catch Can Kits are a true oil PCV crankcase evacuation and separation system that is engineered to eliminate valve coking issues, increase fuel economy by eliminating oil associated detonation, reduce tail pipe emissions, and prolong engine life by removing damaging combustion by-products and trapping them from ingestion via the intake air charge.
Preventing or mitigating this challenge on YOUR GDI vehicle requires some unique engineering modifications such as a GDI Engine Catch Can to the closed Original Equipment by Manufacturer (OEM) Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) system.
Bottom line is, without a proper evacuation system you WILL sustain long-term and expensive engine damage. This damage begins day/mile 1 of your vehicle's life and progressively gets worse. The McNally Gen 2 Universal Oil Catch Can Kits catches these harmful contaminants, which should be drained from the McNally Gen2 Oil Catch Cans at every oil change interval in compliance with the vehicle owner's manual maintenance schedule.
Our Clean Side Separator comes into play in boost, or heavy load conditions such as up a steep hill, when accelerating to pass or when towing a trailer (heavy Load = at approximately 75% of full power). Under these conditions, the cleaned airflow pulls from the Oil Catch Cans to the barb in front of the Throttle Body while the cleaned air from the GDI Engine Catch Can to the intake manifold plenum stops. Our system regulates this switch-over of air flow using the check valves included in the McNally Universal Gen 2 Oil Catch Can Kits. One valve closes while the other opens switching the flow within the system.
Our McNally Universal Gen 2 Oil Catch Can Kits ensures continuous crankcase evacuation no matter what the operating mode (e.g. idle or heavy load) The Universal Oil Catch Can Kits System employs a Dual Chamber Coalescing Separator found in no other. At idle or heavy load, our system detects the moment the intake manifold plenum becomes pressurized. That closes the Check Valve preventing the boost or heavy load from pressurizing the crankcase by opening the Fuel Injection head Check Valve allowing that inlet to provide the vacuum needed for continuous evacuation.
