McNally Electronics Boost/EGT Gauges are essential for any vehicle that is running a turbo or a super charger. Our boost/egt auto gauge allows you to closely monitor your vehicle’s boost and/or exhaust gas temperature. An exhaust gas temperature gauge (EGT gauge) is used to monitor the exhaust gas temperature of an internal combustion engine in conjunction with a thermocouple-type pyrometer. By monitoring EGT, you can get an idea of the vehicle's air-fuel ratio. At a stoichiometric air-fuel ratio (AFR), the exhaust gas temperature is different from that in a lean or rich air-fuel ratio. At rich air-fuel ratio, the exhaust gas temperature either increases or decreases depending on the fuel. High temperatures (typically above 1,600 °F or 900 °C) can be an indicator of dangerous conditions that can lead to catastrophic engine failure. The McNally Electronics gauges all have a needle with a 240 degree sweep and digital display. Since McNally Electronics gauges are all electronic, they can be configured to read two different parameters like Turbo Boost and Exhaust Gas Temperature or Oil Pressure and Temperature at the same time. The gauges read pressure with an external pressure sensor and read temperature with a Type K thermocouple. We have dial faces the show pressure in PSI or BAR or kPa. The temperature is usually displayed on the digital display, and the use can select Fahrenheit or Celsius on the front panel with the press of a button. A typical kit like the Boost EGT kit comes with: Gauge and power cable, pinned pressure sensor, a pinned Thermocouple and compression fitting.
