MPG Meter
The Mile Per Gallon fuel computer gauge has been receiving intense testing on Dave's VROD Harley.
It looks like the other gauges, but here's what it does: the needle always reads the current MPG
computed from the current MPH over the current GPH. It only needs 4 wires out the back: juice,
ground, the injector pulse signal, and vehicle speed sensor signal. These signals can be 5v or
12v, so it will work on any electronically injected engine, any number of cylinders. The display
normally shows the current Tank Average, and the button on the front cycles the display to
Gallons Remaining then Miles Remaining in the tank. There is a one time setup where you get
alpha prompts to select tank full gallons, actual gallons used, and fill tank. |
