McNally Electronics was formed by a group of enthusiastic engineers to design, develop and produce world class automotive instrumentation. The company is a small spin off of an aerospace firm and collectively with our employees brings many years of experience in displays and instrumentation.
Our flagship product line pictured to the right is a world class gauge designed to bring features of both an analog and digital gauge to the automotive market. The pointer moves through a full 240 degrees of the dial. The units can be any quantity of interest such as Turbo Boost, Oil pressure, Volts, Water Temperature to name just a few.
For a single quantity gauge, the digital window replicates the exact value of the pointer movement. In a glance the driver gets both trend and amount. The digital window is not limited by the range of the pointer but can display through the full range of the sensor.
Our "combo" gauges that show one quantity on the pointer and a different quantity in the digital window are also popular. A good example is Boost/EGT, Where boost pressure is displayed on the pointer and exhaust gas temperature is displayed in the digital window. There are many other examples.
This is an all electronic system... no hoses. The gauge can read one pressure
sensor and one thermocouple, so we can do a combo gauge with just about any range of either pressure or temperature, in C or F. And either quantity on the dial or on the needle. The needle travel is 240 degrees, but we can make a custom dial with any beginning and ending range of numbers. The Boost/EGT combo gauges can be ordered in 25,30,50 and 80 PSI off the shelf ranges, and are suitable for any Diesel Turbocharged engine, such as diesel pickup trucks. You folks with turbo gassers can get the combo Boost/Vacuum/EGT version that shows -15 inches Hg on the vacuum side.

Greasecar Motorsports in the BAJA 1000!

For those of you who may not be aware Greasecar has started a "motorworks" extension and our first competitive event is the Baja 1000 desert race in Baja Mexico . This is the 41st year of the most famous desert race and with only half of the entrants crossing the finish line each year our main objective is simply to finish. Our car will be the first diesel powered buggy ever to enter the event and will compete on 100% vegetable oil.

We will be starting the Baja course on Friday afternoon probably after 1:00pm Pacific time. For those who want to track the progress of the car there is a live GPS site that you can watch to see out progress. : http://irctracking.com/2008/Baja1000/ . We are in Class 14, our number is 1402 Shaun Dunbar. When you go to the site select class 14 then 1402. It will only show our position once we are on the course.
